Students following a project-development process will meet these standards in their project work.
Background Principles and Theory
Introductory Level
- recognizes major principles and applies them in project work with guidance
Intermediate Level
- identifies major principles and important theories and applies them in project work with minimal guidance
Advanced Level
- identifies major principles and important theories and applies them in project with work without guidance
Knowledge of Tools and Equipment
Introductory Level
- follows prescribed procedures with all tools and equipment with guidance
- uses tools and equipment in a safe and appropriate manner in most instances
Intermediate Level
- follows prescribed procedures with new tools and equipment with guidance and familiar tools and equipment with minimal guidance
- uses all tools and equipment in a safe and appropriate manner
Advanced Level
- follows prescribed procedures with new tools and equipment with minimal guidance and familiar tools and equipment without guidance
- uses all tools and equipment in a safe and appropriate manner
Development Plan
Introductory Level
- develops a logical organizational plan for a project with guidance
Intermediate Level
- develops a logical organizational plan for a project with minimal guidance
Advanced Level
- develops a logical organizational plan for a project without guidance
- organizes for implementation of plan without guidance
Implementation of Project
Introductory Level
- puts plan into action with direct assistance as required
- modifies plan to accommodate unforeseen circumstances with guidance
Intermediate Level
- puts plan into action with minimal direct assistance as required
- modifies plan to accommodate unforeseen circumstances with minimal guidance
Advanced Level
- puts plan into action without direct assistance as required
- modifies plan to accommodate unforeseen circumstances without guidance
Finishing/Presentation/Portfolio
(note: portfolio may be paper-based, computer-based and/or audio/video-based)
Introductory Level
- finishes project (e.g., editing, mounting, collating) with guidance or direct assistance
- presents project to teacher in a portfolio in a neat and appropriate manner with guidance
- presents project to teacher and one peer in a critique in an appropriate manner with guidance
Intermediate Level
- finishes project (e.g., editing, mounting, collating) with minimal guidance or direct assistance
- presents project to teacher in a portfolio in a neat and appropriate manner with minimal guidance
- presents project to teacher and peers in a critique in an appropriate manner with guidance
Advanced Level
- finishes project (e.g., editing, mounting, collating) with minimal guidance or direct assistance
